Lot 75 - What Price La Chiesa?!
Isn't it amazing? As soon as you take something away from someone, they
have to have it back. Who can honestly say theyve never kicked a bird they dont fancy anymore into touch, seen some mug
chatting them up in Faces and dived in to buy them a drink?! (The girl not the fella)
Johnny Cash bit the dust not long ago, and soon after sales of his
CD's were through the roof as peole thought 'Ah this shit kicking Count-ry & Westerrn aint so darn bad
after all'... then realised it was pony...
So it is that La Chiesa are no more a force in the Corinthian League.
But the site is getting more hits than ever, and teams are queuing up to play friendlies against us, but nothing prepared
me for the shock of what I saw whilst innocently browsing an online auticon today. Go to www.ebay.co.uk , type 'Black Silver Classic', hit 'all categories' and prepare to be amazed!!! (17.07.06)

La Chiesa's Farewell Tour...
...begins on 2pm August 13th with a game against our old friends Esprit
in Loughton. Esprit inflicted two harrowing defeats on the LC/DC way back in 2003. It was a tough time to be an LC/DC fan
- played 6 won 0 Drew 1 Lost 5 was our league record after the 4-1 reverse at Hainault Park to Senor Gokdemirs boys, and certain
figures at ther club were ready to throw in the towel. But later that day amidst the dizzy haze of the Christmas piss up,
Chiesa's manager recieved an uplifting text message from Onur telling us we were far from goners... Friendship sealed, Chiesa
then hit top form in early 04 and the rest is history. It should be a pleasant way to say goodbye to Corinthian League
opposition.
In September La Chiesa will play their last ever game, facing the opposition
that it all began against on that ridiculously hot day in August 2003 - Norfolk & Chance. A 5-1 hammering was no way to
start this rollercoaster journey - a 2-1 defeat the following season showed how the team had improved, and now we will be
hoping to go out in style by finally getting the better of Smudger and his boys from Sarf of the River ( venue and ko time
tbc) (20.07.06)

A Nation Mourns...
Tributes to La Chiesa Del Corno have been pouring in from all over
the world as the sad news of their demise sinks in. Floral arrangements have been arriving at Cottons Park in their thousands
(See pic above), as fans, rival players and league officials forget their differences and unite as one to mourn the passing
of what has been called 'The Worlds Best Sunday Morning Football Club'.
League Secretary Stan Hamilton was barely audible as he manfully held back
the tears when leading the tributes...and it was left to
Maze FC skipper Benji Gillespie to speak up for the rest of the
Corinthian League sides... " I think I speak for all of us when I say that Sunday Morning football will not be the same without
La Chiesa. They were the most stylish, cultured team I ever had the pleasure to play against and reading their fantastic
website was the first thing I did when I got to work on Monday mornings. I'm going to miss them like crazy - A sad loss"
Meanwhile, over in Hornchurch, a twenty one year old was arrested after
holding the Manager of the Hogshead Pub up at gunpoint and forcing him to play the DVD of LC/DC's 101 greatest goals over
and over again for an entire Sunday. He will appear in court next week. (20.07.06)
